With excitement rife it seems fitting to announce that more wonderful acts have been added to the already amazing line up for this year’s Lounge on the Farm so it’s with great pleasure that we welcome Mystery Jets, Holy Fuck and Johnny Flynn, amongst others treats, to the fold.
Keeping the summer spirit alive the Mystery Jets will be bringing their beautiful blend of indie pop to the main stage on Saturday to play along side legends such as Billy Childish and Sonny J. Taking on one of the main slots on Friday night will be one of Canada’s hottest new talents, Holy Fuck who willtreat the farm folk to a set of the mercurial dark disco beats that have made them one of the top live acts of the past year. Set to release new single ‘Tickle me Pink’ later this month, Johnny Flynn and the Sussex Wit also join the bill showcasing their well-crafted folk songs on Saturday night.
With the unique ability to mix old and new the cast-iron legend that is Terry Hall will be returning to Lounge on the Farm with a big bag of records in hand to spin the wheels of steel in the Hoedown on Sunday evening. The home of new talent, ‘The Sheep Dip’ is kept alight with Eddie Argus (of Art Brut infamy) fronted glam funk revivalists, Glam Chops who will be strutting their platform heeled stuff on Friday evening. Not being greedy or anything Eddy will also be appearing with his Future and the Boy project, whilst his bezzy mates The Subliminal Girls will also be putting in an appearance. To top all this off Jonquil will be appearing on the Folk Farm stage on Friday night.
Keeping true to its roots Lounge on the Farm’s ‘Furthur Tent’ will be celebrating the experimental sounds of Canterbury past and present. With this task in hand, breakbeat wizards Pest have been appointed the prestigious headlining slot for Friday, whilst the experimental thread continues with Bonobo and Polar Bear taking the Saturday and Sunday headline slots, thatwill keep the Furthur Tent brimming to capacity.
