Miranda Barber - Lips' Decision Out 30th June 2008 on Barbershop Records

London-based singer/songwriter Miranda Barber is pleased to announce the release of her debut album ‘Lips' Decision’. Miranda is a storyteller & a soul-searcher, harking from the sun-kissed bays of Melbourne, Australia. In 1999 she entered the feisty fray of East London, which has since been her home.

Her smoky brew of breathy, piano led pondering is a fresh mixture of intelligent lyricism, melodious hooks and the kind of song writing that hasn’t been heard since the 60s. Incorporating wandering upright bass lines, sumptuous strings, subtle guitar nuances and ukulele shards ‘Lips’ Decision’ charts the growth of a genuine talent as she unleashes her textures across the octaves on her first full length release.

On 7th September 2007 Miranda won the first showcase out of 600 songwriters on www.slicethepie.com by public vote and received £15,000 to make this, her first album. Produced by Charlie Winston the album was recorded at Goldtop Studios and Mi7 Studios in London and will be launched live on the 25th June.
