After announcing the return of a Fistful of Fandango the head honchos at Club Fandango have masterfully secured more acts for this year’s 5 day band bonanza. A Fistful of Fandango will be taking place at the 229 venue on London's Great Portland Street from the 2nd to 6th September. This five-night stand will see Team Fandango once again take over the whole 229 venue and each evening will deliver three bands in the large Room 1 and three bands in the petite Room 2. That makes a total of six bands a night for five consecutive nights, which means a grand total of 30 acts in a week.

Never afraid to blindly jump in at the deep end where others sensibly fear to paddle, Club Fandango launched A FISTFUL OF FANDANGO on a wing and a prayer in September 2007 with 24 bands playing over four nights at a new unproven venue with a new unproven sound system. The Fandango label, famous for finding the best new bands of the moment signed up Maps, Shitdisco, Electric Soft Parade and British Sea Power amongst many others to provide electric and sensational performances across the week in room 1. Whilst room two saw the handsome likes of Friendly Fires, Pete & The Pirates, Malcolm Middleton, Fanfarlo, Operator Please and quite literally more.

This year’s stellar line up, including indie heavy weights such as The Shout Out Louds, Fionn Regan, Air Traffic and Camera Obscura, now welcomes a host of amazing acts into the fold. The eccentric Robots in Disguise add a little electro to proceeding when they headline Wednesday night whilst 80s inspired indie popsters The Wave Pictures have been added to the bill on Saturday.  The seductive sounds of Boy Least Likely To will be heard alongside Glam Chops and The Shout Out Louds on Tuesday night. Hot on the heels of these additions is young guns Popular Workshop whose scratchy proto punk songs grace the 229 on Tuesday evening.

Thursday line up keeps going from strength to strength as the line up expands.  The delectable and well crafted indie folk songs man Pete Greenwood has been adding to the bill with young blood Cassie and the Cassettes and Stars and Sons. The Ruling Class with their distinctive Manchester sound, although being from London, grace 299’s stage on Friday with Red Light Company and Capital who will be kicking of that night’s festivities.

To coincide with A Fistful of Fandango, Club Fandango launch Zine Fandango, their guide to the best, new and truly independent music around.  Hailing as a cross between Private Eye and a footie fanzine it will conjure the spirit of punk, the era that gave birth to the fanzine, and act as a tool to promote Fandango’s favourite bands more thoroughly.  Zine Fandango doubles up as the programme to a Fistful of Fandango summarising the festivals events and top tips.  Enclosed in zine will be an extra special gift for readers with secret codes that will allow punters access to their very own copy of the FREE downloadable Fandango album. You can’t say Fandango never, ever, treat you well!

With a few acts yet to be announced Fandango is shaping to be one of the best events London has seen this year and will appeal to those who are excited about new music.

So then. ...2 stages: 5 nights: 30 bands: @ the 229. And all happening in
 3 weeks.
