Crackers electro-pop pioneer Thomas Dolby is set to return after taking a 14 year sabbatical. It's not quite as hotly anticipated as the return of Kate Bush, though there are plenty of nerds out there who will be getting in a tizzy over this news. Dolby's last album was 1992's 'Astronauts & Heretics.'
"I never really intended to take 10 years away from the music business," said Dolby, whose hits include 'Hyperactive' and 'She Blinded Me With Science'. All those years away seem to have blinded Thomas to Maths.
Dolby added: "I'm not the sort who needs to be in the limelight in order to get satisfaction out of what I'm doing."
The singer has spurned releasing records in the conventional way in favour of the internet.
He said "...if I choose to push a button at any time I can release (a song), have it accessible by anyone. There's no rigmarole of A&R men and radio promoters to get around anymore."
