I spent two nights in Alburquerque ones, and there was a terrific thunderstorm.
but you came back, and that's the important thing
what were you doing there?
watching a thunderstorm
I can't really remember, it was 11 years ago. It was far preferable to the town of Rocky Ford, where we stayed on the same trip.
i only went in order to drop a hire car and fly back to london
'The King of Rock n' Roll' is a fine tune!
Can you listen to Thomas Dolby?
Yes. I like Thomas Dolby a lot.
me too as per the review for his show last year hidden away in the PL archives. he's touring UK soon you know.
makes me queasy
not all of it is quirky. alot is very delicate and rather wonderful. the quirky stuff that people know is a minor part of his catalogue
examples? i'm always willing to give artists another go
anything off 'The Flat Earth' album, apart from Hyperactive basically, its a genuinely great album, with a darkly sombre mood throughout. then there is 'Budapest By Blimp' off the far patchier 'Aliens Ate My Buick' album, that sends shivers up my spine when the production drops in a crowd noise towards the end.
'Astronauts and Heretics' is a beautiful, down beat affair with some great tracks, eg. Neon Sisters.
However, all is eclipsed by the classic that is One Of Our Submarines, a brilliant slice of 80s electronic pop, thats so good Ricardo Villalobos sorted out an epic 12 minute version that never gets boring, and the rest of the album 'The Golden Age of Wireless' is (other than She Blinded Me with Science of course) is just about perfect in every way.
Yes. I am a fan.
He knows his stuff. I quite like 'Hyperactive' actually
